Step-by-step protocol

How to apply Mesoceuticals® BCN

Recommended protocol combining Meso Pen with re-epithelialisation via TDS. Each method can also be used independently.

1

Skin cleansing and preparation

Cleanse with a suitable cleanser. Gentle exfoliation to increase skin permeability. Disinfect with antiseptic product and single-use gauze.

2

Diagnosis and mixture formulation

Assess the skin condition and select actives according to the indication table. Prepare the mixture in a vial with applicator or syringe. Remove the needle once formulated.

3

Active ingredient application

Apply the solution drop by drop under the Meso Pen, Meso Roller or TDS head. Advance gradually covering the entire area. Use conductive gel if the device requires it.

4

Treatment with selected method

Constant and uniform pressure. Meso Pen: circular, vertical and diagonal movements. Meso Roller: left-right, up-down and diagonal. Apply actives over the work area.

5

Re-epithelialisation with Hyaluronic Acid 2%

With TDS: apply under the head. Without TDS: leave for 20 minutes. For body areas, add DMAE for firming effect. Seals, protects and promotes skin regeneration.

6

Post-treatment care

Record the mixture in the client file. Do not wash until the next day. Full sun protection for 7 days. Continue with homecare: MesoAge® and MesoVita® (anti-ageing), MesoCell® (cellulite/fat), MesoBlanche® (hyperpigmentation).

Application methods

Three methods for professional results

  • Stimulates collagen and elastin production
  • Visible firming and rejuvenating effect
  • Improves stretch marks, scars and wrinkles
  • Reduces pore size
  • Deep penetration of BCN actives

Meso Roller

Micro-needle roller for personal, non-transferable use. Ideal for maintenance and easily accessible areas.

  • Left-to-right movements
  • Cross vertically and diagonally
  • Constant, uniform pressure
  • Apply actives gradually
  • Personal, non-transferable use

TDS · Transdermal delivery

Electroporation, iontophoresis, ultrasound, radiofrequency and other needle-free penetration technologies.

  • Set parameters according to zone and skin type
  • Use conductive gel if the device requires it

FAQ about BCN mesotherapy

We answer the most common questions about Institute BCN Mesoceuticals®, protocols and application methods.

What Meso Pen depth is recommended for each facial zone?
Depth varies by zone: forehead and temples 0.5 mm, cheeks 0.5-1 mm, nasolabial fold 1-1.5 mm, upper lip 0.25-0.5 mm and eye contour maximum 0.25 mm. Body areas such as abdomen or thighs are treated between 1.5 and 2.5 mm. These depths are indicative and must be adjusted according to skin condition and professional judgement.
Can Meso Pen be combined with TDS in the same session?
Yes, this is the combination recommended by Institute BCN. The standard protocol is to apply the Meso Pen first to create microchannels and apply part of the active, then use TDS (electroporation, iontophoresis or ultrasound) to enhance absorption of the remaining active. This maximises penetration without increasing skin aggression.
How many ml of active are needed per facial session?
A complete facial treatment with Meso Pen requires 2-4 ml of active, depending on the extent of the treated area. With TDS, slightly more is needed (3-5 ml), as part of the product is used as a conductive medium. BCN Classics come in 2 ml ampoules and Cocktails in 5 ml vials.
How many sessions are needed to see results?
Results depend on the indication. For hydration and radiance, they may be noticeable from the first session. For pigmentation, scars or sagging, a protocol of 4-8 sessions with intervals of 14 days (Meso Pen) or 7 days (Meso Roller) is recommended. Progress evaluation and protocol adjustment should be performed by the professional at each visit.
What is the difference between Meso Pen, Meso Roller and TDS?
The Meso Pen is a motorised device with vertical movement that allows adjustable depth per zone, exceeding 1,000 perforations per second. The Meso Roller is a manual roller with fixed-depth needles depending on the model, better suited for gentle treatments. TDS (Transdermal Delivery System) uses electroporation, iontophoresis or ultrasound to deliver the active without needles. All three methods are compatible with all BCN actives.
Are there contraindications for mesotherapy with BCN actives?
Yes. Microneedling should not be performed on skin with active infections, herpes, dermatitis, recent sunburn or open wounds. It is contraindicated in people on anticoagulants, systemic retinoids (isotretinoin) or with a history of keloid scarring. The professional must perform a full assessment and obtain informed consent before each protocol.
